These two choices are referred to as First Additional Language and Second Additional Language. The term ‘Additional’ is used because English, as the medium of instruction, is regarded as compulsory. For most girls this will mean a choice between Afrikaans and IsiZulu, however, girls who qualify for an Immigrant’s Concession may opt for French as their First Additional Language. For the Second Additional Language, girls choose Conversational Zulu or French, or, they may opt for Music instead.

 

In addition to the languages, they also cover the following subjects in Grade 8 and 9: Consumer Studies, Dramatic Arts, Economic and Management Sciences (EMS), Geography, History, Mathematics, Information & Digital Literacy, Life Orientation, Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences and Visual Arts.[/text]
